Patio Gazebo’s
Patio gazebos have been around for decades. Gazebo’s fall into the category of shade solutions and compete with patio umbrella’s and awnings to keep you cool and protected from harmful UV rays. Outdoor gazebos take all shapes and sizes with several built in or additional accessory features.
Considerations for a Patio Gazebo
When looking to purchase a patio gazebo’s there should be a few considerations:
- What size gazebo should I purchase?
- Am I prepared to secure my gazebo into my patio?
- Does it provide me with maximum shade when I really need it?
Gazebo sizes vary from 10′x10′ to 12′x14′ and are available in different shapes, square, rectangular and hexagon shape. You need to measure your space and be comfortable with the size. Take into account your patio set and how much space it needs. If you have a square patio set you may want to purchase a square gazebo to maintain its consistent look. Remember don’t overcrowd your patio.
All patio gazebo’s must be securely anchored into the ground. You have to be willing to drill into your concrete, wood or slab flooring. Not properly securing your gazebo will/may result in severe wind damage. Warranties will not cover damage by wind.
Think about when your on your patio and where the sun is in relation. If your gazebo is not equipped with side panels it may be useless to you. Understand what exposure you need to address and if your gazebo has the capability to do as such.
What to Look for in a Patio Gazebo
When looking at patio gazebos to purchase here are some tips:
- Find out if you are able to purchase just the gazebo canopy on its own as the canopy will be the first thing to replace.
- Your gazebo should have side panels to block out harmful sun exposures or act as privacy panels.
- Your outdoor gazebo should have an air pocket on the roof to relief any high winds from major damage.
- Aluminum frame is ideal because it won’t rust.
