Patio umbrellas are great additions to any outdoor setting. They protect you from the sun’s harmful U.V. rays and help you enjoy your outdoor furniture for longer periods of time.

Patio umbrellas serve several purposes including protecting our skin from harmful UV exposure, providing shade solution on a sunny day, or adding a vibrant colour to your outdoors.

Patio umbrellas come in a variety of sizes starting with the standard 9′  market umbrella and moving up to 10′, 11′ and 10′x13′ rectangular. Umbrellas serve both a design purpose but importantly protect us from harmful  and prolonged UV exposure. Given that a patio umbrella is a part of many patio sets and outdoor deep seating arrangements we have made is easy to accessorize them.

Patio Umbrella Base;

Umbrella bases are sold separate from the umbrella and there is a selection of bases to meet your needs. The umbrella base must be heavy enough to support the patio umbrella and keep it from falling over in a “regular” wind. Note, your umbrella should always be closed, if not disassembled, when not in use.

Umbrella bases come in a variety of materials including, concrete, stainless steel, cast iron and marble. Gone of the days of plastic umbrella basis filled with water that seem to crack and never last a winter season. Choose a perfect functional base for your umbrella.

Cantilever umbrella bases must be filled with sand in order to provide maximum stability. Water is not recommended as it evaporates over time and can leave your umbrella vulnerable to being knocked over.

Patio Umbrella Cover;

To preserve the life of your umbrella, consider a protective umbrella cover. When your patio umbrella is not in use and dry keep it covered when possible. This will keep the umbrella fabric cleaner and reduce the natural fading process. Keep in mind when purchasing an umbrella that sunbrella fabrics are made to resist the fading process for a prolonged period of time making it thinkable to purchase dark colours such as black and dark blues.

Patio Umbrella Lights;
